Paralyzed Gymnast Settles Suit

The lawyer for a Chinese gymnast says she has settled claims against the United States Gymnastics Federation and insurance companies after she was paralyzed in a vaulting accident at the 1998 Goodwill Games in New York. The lawyer, Ming Hai, said that the gymnast, Sang Lan, will receive health insurance and compensation. A lawsuit alleged that the federation and insurance companies did not follow through on promises made after the accident.
